3rd quarter results
American - $175M
Continental - $241M Southwest - $162M Delta - $220M Northwest - will announce on Oct 29 Jet Blue - Oct 23 OK, I'm sure someone will chime in with a UPS $5B profit, but the real question: what is each of these airline's cumulative debt since 9/11? Riddler |
Sort of related...
Nice work to the CAL employees on a record quarter for the company. Question about profit sharing: How much does one typically get out of a great quarter like that, and does it vary depending on years of service with the company or position? Just curious. |
Last time it was a five digit bonus given out on Valentines Day.
|
Come on. Five digit as in $XXX.XX or $XXXXX.XX ? Ha ha.
|
$XX,XXX.XX and it's based on your yearly income.
|
I'm looking at around 15-18K. 756CA.

after seeing cals profit for the past couple years...they should be nicely rewarded.
|
Great news! Things starting to look upwards. Now the real question is how much can they afford to lose to increased employee wages.
|
yep ...all those nice profits arent worth much in the long run if its all wiped out by high fuel and higher wages. But I do think we will see wage movement in all sectors as long as the requests are reasonable. While I understand those who have taken HUGE cuts wanting to get it all back.... what good would that do if simply puts the carrier back in a break even or in the red situation. FWIW....in my opinion a few percent increase is not reasonable, 5-10 percent across the board plus annual raises which at exceed COLA by a percent over the contract is what I think can be expected. Anything more and I believe EXTREME resistance from management. these are my general thoughts across the industry by the way....nothing carrier specific. I think we all would like to see the legacys get all of their concessions back, but realistically I dont see it happening.

Riddler Oct 23rd we announce our results. I don't think it will be $5B though. I believe last qtr was $1.1B profit. Congrats to the employees of the airlines that you posted, their hard work and givebacks are evident in the profitable bottom-lines. FF |
