AirInc in ALT...no DAL?

No offense taken! We don't have a monopoly on hiring info (we just don't charge for it
DAL and UAL did not attend the FltOps.com job fair in DFW last week presumably because they are not hiring. UPS and SWA (also not hiring) attended and were there to answer questions.
So the short answer is - who knows? I'd imagine the AirInc has current info about the attendees on their web site.
Good luck in the search!

This is all rumor and not insider information, but...
Delta is hiring... a lot. Rumor was the training department wanted a break, but they didn't get it due to the demand. There are pilot classes of around 24 people each starting on Nov 12, and one on Dec 3rd. Starting in 2008, there will be 2 classes a month of 30-35 and going to continue for at least 6 months, maybe longer.
Also, DAL did the last Air Inc conference in D.C., but wasn't happy with the service that Air Inc provided. It can be uncomfortable for a pilot who works for other companies that are present (ie jetBlue, Airtran), to meet and greet with DAL at AirInc. (BTW, there was 1 jetBlue and 1 Airtran pilot in my new hire class.)
DAL is considering holding it's own job fair with some of the other majors to avoid these problems.
These are all rumors, but they sure are good ones! Bottom line, get your application in.

Thanks, didn't want to step on anyone's toes!"DAL is considering holding it's own job fair with some of the other majors to avoid these problems."
Wow... that'd would be the "Mother of all job fairs!". But I see your point. My answer would be, "Hey, nothing personal... it's just a job."Thanks to all

My bad, I shouldn't lumped both airlines into the same sentence. The phrase "not hiring" should have been applicants have met demand at each airline.
UAL has current new hire classes in progress although is not interviewing or hiring for the rest of the year. They do expect to hire again in '08.

DAL has 12000 apps on file, with about 2500 of those holding at least two LOR's.
The above is very true. DAL likes to do it their way, and was not happy with DCA. They may change their mind, but are looking at other ways to meet the qualified Applicants.
To date they have not had any issues with getting people to fill their classes. DAL has tightened the screws a little bit on the interview process. More people are not making it past day one, but they did this because they knew they could.
Expect 08 to be a banner year for DAL. They have posted 650-700 new hires for 08. In 07 they said 200 and will hire about 350 or so. I would expect that if they can ramp up the numbers in 08 they will has well.
With all of the hiring going on most are wondering what is going on. Expect to see a lot of those questions answered in the first half of 08.
Good luck to all.
