Anyone hear any rumors about the latest and greatest on a new AirTran Domicile?

Only the usual BWI and MCO rumors...probably won't happen for a while either way. I'm interested to see what's in store now that Fornaro is at the helm.

Anything on moving West or is that way down the line? Just can't see only having ATL with an ever-expanding fleet.

No, I'm sure there's something in the works, but this is an airline. Nothing EVER happens fast. I would love to see a push west and hopefully, at least, a Midwestern base. New cities to be announced soon from what I've heard, so we'll see.

You're right though...ATL can't sustain much more growth. We're already parking aircraft on 3 different concourses.

Regardless, you can be sure it will be somewhere you don't want to live.....

Default Seeking Info

I'm interested in AirTran. Can you tell me days off/reserve info for a new FO? What types of reserve does the company have: 90 minute report or other options? Thanks

Additional AirTran question: Can you tell me about the retirement plan: is there a 10.5% B Fund paid by the company above your salary? Company web site only states "Crew Members may contribute up to 15% of annual base income into the 401(k). AirTran Airways matches 30% of total contributions." Thanks

Reserve is 10-11 guaranteed days off depending upon 30/31 day month. Call out is 2hrs. Pay on reserve is pretty good. Most of my months were around 65-80hrs block with between 95-110 hrs credit.

All of the above is subject to change with any new contract down the line. We're hoping to get a few more days off each month for reserves.

Don't know much about the 401K/B-fund yet. Maybe someone else can chime in about it.

I see Air Tran took over the B concourse at STL. Supposedly, 6 gates will be constructed there. Gate number 2 is already under construction.
