Default New hire pay at SWA?

What can a person who is in class at SWA expect to make during school, IOE, first month of line and reserve? Thanks!

In class $3,000/month (as of about 5 years ago).

I think IOE is part of the traning pay. You'll be on the line in about 6-7 weeks, no joke.

Your first line will pay 90-100 TFP (trips for pay) at $44.15/trip. Reserve pays 90 TFP for a 30 day month and 96 TFP for a 31 day month.

Any flying on your days off during the first year pays second year pay of $74.49/trip. Just think of TFP as an hour of pay. The conversion is 1.1394 if you're interested.

Hope that helps.

congrats, you'll luv it here!!!

Try BOB's STEAK AND CHOP when in Dallas, expensive but worth it and only five minutes from the hotel....a lot better than the steak place in the hotel.

You're talking steak houses to a pilot in a new hire class? And they're expensive? I sure hope that your management guys don't read this stuff. You could be next on the hourly pay chopping block when you start negotiations next year.

Funny that you say that because BOB's is Gary Kelly's favorite steak place in Dallas. Goes there often and mingles with any SWA people that go there too...

Sorry to hear that you have issues with your management. We happen to like ours and try to work with them. (might be a new concept to some out there)

Anyhow as a new hire and being in training for six weeks or so it is nice to go out and have a decent dinner and lay off the cans of tuna and crackers once in a while. Notice I didn't say everynight. I said try it.....

Jeez!

I flew with a fifth year First Officer the other day who will break 200k this year, and no, he is not a Lance Captain. Granted he works his butt off, but it is nice that SWA gives you the option to work as much or as little as you want.

Why are so many people on this website so defensive? Did you happen to notice the little smiley face thingy that I tacked on to the end of my tongue-in-cheek post?

Like you wrote- jeez.
