The employee group at SX is comprised of mostly FA's, then pilots and a handful (about 80) office / mgmt staff... this compared to the 1000's or 10,000's that airlines eventually have in overhead staff.. This alone will almost take 1/3 off their costs... more in depth I can't get into as I don't frankly fully understand it myself.

bugcrusher1... Biggest advise is be yourself, it's 75% personal, 25% technical.. they're looking for "owners" not "clock punchers" and they want people who understand what they're trying to do.. study the news clips and press releases on their business model, get a brush up on basic aerodynamics, FAR's and other basic airmans' stuff.. IT's odd who they hire and who they don't.. I've seen 2000 PIC Citation X drivers turned away and no PIC RJ drivers hired.. and I've heard of high time RJ CA's not hired and low time military guys hired, so flight time and type of flight time isn't the factor; it's mostly you and your personality and whether you're captain material.. They're hiring captains (the FAA is watching them), and they want to make sure you can handle the responsibility.

Good luck.
wow, no time pic rj drivers hired, do I have a chance? Oh wait I made 60k as a "no time pic rj driver". And owners? humm is that what they told you would be if your options pan out? Hope it works out for ya.

Wasn't that long ago that most of the traffic onto GSO was 100+ seats with the F-100 being the smallest a/c on the ramp. Now with all the 50 seaters we see more frequency and more oversold and more cancelations. Don't kid yourself, GSO for the most part is a short hop but fairly high density for around 1 hr leg. I have personally been bumped off at least 3 RJs this yr as a paying pax and I only ride outbound about 12-18 time a year.

I saw quite a few hotties being hired as f/as the other day for Skybust but that in no way equates to there success. The whole marketing scheme is in error for the States and I don't forse them being in biz for more than 8 more months.

I think I was out of diapers back in 1971 when Southwest started, Nice try.

You asked for a guarantee and I gave you one. Don't get mad.

Here's another one for you. Take the Giants and the points in the Super Bowl.

yo dude,

i guess i'll roll up a dollar bill for those hot FA's...fares used to favor folks starting their trip out of gso. not anymore ....it's cheaper or as cheap to drive to charlotte or raleigh. both airports have airtran and jetblue and of course SWA is in RDU.

as they say in football, "that's why they play the game" let's see how the next two quarters go. the trend will be obvious, by year end, we'll know if gso is going to work. Allegiant seems to be on the ball with their IWA spot in phoenix, skybus folks should choose that one next.
