Default American Airlines hiring minimums

Quick question for the AA guys, what were the hiring minimums when hired?

...and those who were there, ever have any pterodactyl strikes? How bout woolly mammoths, did they ever wander onto the airports?

Ha! I'm laughing loudly in my hotel room all alone! First post for me after years of lurking, and look what I'm responding too! Classic.

"Qualifications commensurate with experience" or something along those lines (Cecil Ewell friends&family program). I think the Kude put a stop to that and instituted some kind of hourly min's but I can't quite remember... something around 1500 PIC, maybe?

Anyway, we'll teach you how to properly salute once you hit new hire school. (along with taking the donut ring out of your hat for that 50 mission Sky Nazi look.)

What hiring mins "were" does not matter. Case in point, the last time American was hiring a FE written was required. When they start to hire the minimums will reflect the state of the industry at that time. Keep in mind that minimums are typically not competitive at the majors - that is unless you knew somebody, like Cecil at American or Plato at DAL . Although I heard plenty of people had luck stalking them in parking lots and elevators.

"Unless you knew somebody"

You should see that put to test in Europe ... literally who you know.

Not much mystery here. Still over 1000 on furlough, and only recalling those guys (or should I say "us guys") at a trickle. Plus age 65...? Not sure who told you otherwise, but I would not waste a lot of effort figuring out how to fill out that AA app - if you can even find one.

Sorry to bust your bubble.

Not at all, no worries. I have a few contacts over there and I recently got in touch and they were giving me the scoop on the company. From what I understand there is no more flow from AE and a lot of guys will be retiring??? Retirement seems like the smartest option for some of the guys, who would want to lose there pension just to stay on board for another 5 years?
