More NewCo Propaganda from the NWA EMT
This is the Latest Bull****** put out by NWA's EMT.
NewCo means jobs for furloughed pilots
JAN 5, 2006 -- In addition to the other advantages a NewCo subsidiary would bring to Northwest, creating such a third-party carrier would mean additional jobs for Northwest pilots.
By 2008, NewCo would be a source of more than 800 pilot jobs. (at greatly reduced pay and benefits) And those pilots would still have recall rights to work for Northwest when that opportunity arises. If NewCo is not created, the job of flying regional jets will go to other third-party carriers outside of Northwest’s control with their own existing pilot workforce.
“NewCo is not a strategy to outsource the jobs of pilots,” (yea right, I have a bridge to sell you) said Doug Steenland, president and CEO. “In fact, of the 105 large regional aircraft Northwest will need by 2010, about 60 percent will be 76-seaters, many of which are replacing the Avros currently operated by our Airlink partner. The pilots of those planes never have been, and never will be, employed by Northwest.(Sorry, Avros Airlink guys, They were just using you) No legacy airline has made these regional jets a part of its mainline operation.”
Only 45 of the 105 regional aircraft that would be operated by NewCo would have 100 seats; of those, 19 would be used to replace DC9-30s that must be retired, and 26 would accommodate demand in important Northwest markets.
Like I said above, this is Propaganda from the Co, but that is just my opinion.

They won't stop until the blood runs from their eyes. Steenland knows Newco is a way to fire NWA pilots and hire slick UND grads to fly for one third of the cost it would if you or I flew them. Saftey is of no concern of his, and all that matters is the new low salary of Newco pilots.

I hope the NWA guy's don't cave on this. We all have vested interest in scope not becoming a four letter word
All flying under the banner of an airline should be flown by pilots on the same seniority list.
STOP THE WIPSAWING NOW!!
