Arrow Startup insurance costs??

Hello everybody,

This is my second post here, I figured this is a better spot for my question. How much insurance cost would a startup airline operating a single jetstream 31 expect to pay? I know that the costs vary depending on pilot certifications, age of the plane and company, etc., but I'm just after a price which could be expected without question. Thanks a lot for your help, sorry if this question is too vague.

Have you considered speaking with an insurance underwriter?

Yep, sure have. I just haven't placed any calls yet, and I figured it may be quicker to ask those who were directly in the business. Thanks for the reply.

P.S: Now that I re-read the post, I do think it is too vague......sorry everyone.

I'd be interested to hear what you find out from the underwriters. Most of the guys and gals here on the forum are the aircraft operators, not the owners of the assets you wish to insure. Although, as the operators, we ARE the individuals that keep insurance rates low by virtue of experience and related safety records.

I am researching the same thing except for 737-700's. I will post my findings..

Yeah, I understand that you guys are mostly the operators, not the asset managers, but I was just fishing around for the chance that someone was on the "inside" if you know what I mean (no offense intended ). I am glad that there is a fair bit of support for what I am trying to figure out. If I get through to any underwritters, I'll let you all know right away. Good luck with those 737's, too!

I have got the insurance prices from 2 insurance brokers for the Jetstream 32 and 41. Which would cover the aircraft and the operation (airline).
