Common mistake!! You have to use the heavy duty tin foil and if you go above FL250, you can't use the foil more than 3 times before it picks up possibly fatal particles.

This topic was discussed on one of the meetings I have participated. Is there a correlation between this and the rumor that FedEx pilots' lifespan is shorter than average Americans? I've heard that more than once from various people.

Tin foil will actually aggravate the situation, just like aircraft aluminum causes radiation to be even more harmful. Only way to protect yourself would be to wear an anti radiation space suit complete with a helmet and your own oxygen tank! Don't forget your anti radiation gloves!
