Just curious on this one... At Spirit, the rumor of 2008 is that VA purchased us... Wht are you hearing?

Not a bad idea except for one small detail....ALPA.

For VA to be a 7000 pilot airline they would have to be bigger than Delta. DAL has just over 7000 pilots and a large percentage of the international operation is flying around with either 3 or 4 pilots. For VA, who only operates 2 man flights, and probably has leaner work rules in terms of utilization, they would have to be one of the largest airlines in the USA.

if history is a predicotr of future beaviour and management capabilities time has alreay told. Virgin airline ventures are moderately succesfull only when there little competition :
atlantic with BA only when it first started, blue with quantas, nigeria with no one. express failed becasue there was competition in europe. america will fail for the same reasons.

VirginExpress merged successfully with Brussels Airlines, and is the only airline with a hub in Brussels.

The one successful ingedient in all Virgin brands is they never over-expand. They're not greedy and I don't think you'll ever see VirginAmerica get above 40-50 aircraft. Quality, not quantity, has been their pattern.

VIRGIN EXPRESS merged becaused after 10 years of ops they where a low quality producy, unprofitable and did not have mor than 10 planes. it was a failed airline sold on the cheap and it is something branson does not talk about.

I do agree you will not see virgin america above 50 planes , wich is the point of this threard, as the recruiters were telling guys they will have 7,000 pilots in the future.....but I do believe VA will be sold or the virgin group will sell its stake like they did with virgin blue to the other investors

Perhaps this will help your posts flow a little better. If you are going to rant, make it intelligible.

Is that what you virgin guys and gals are hearing as well? Are you also expecting a pay raise, and if so, then when? How are you liking it over there? Are the minn requirements less with airbus time? Any discussion of changing your uniforms?:D I am currently flying the A320 for Frontier, and i absolutely love it here. However, our financial status is not so good and I am doing a little window shopping just in case we go out of business. Thanks

Thinking about VA as an option after Frontier?? W_F?? With all due respect to the fine folks at Frontier, things must be getting desperate over there. I've heard the company's having trouble, but come on..."Redwood" is the last place I'd look. If you want to be an industry pariah then go ahead. You'd be doing nothing more than showing support for the kinds of pilots that are helping put you on the street.
