Up to World...I guess if you're current by the FAA you could scab it out. Unfortunately, right now scope is out the window with World pilots on strike...

Hope this was just a curiosity-type question and not a "should-I-do-it" -type question...

Aircum Actually they haved waived somewhat in their position.
A little over a year ago MGT's policy was not to hire any furloughed pilots from Legacy carriers! Then they started allowing the hiring USAir Furloughed pilots. Now they are hiring Furloughed pilots form all Legacy carriers.......

Hopefully the trend will continue and they will begin accepting qualified interviewees from ALL walks of life...........................

Email your ACP and voice your opinion................it is a stupid policy.

The hiring policy is ever shifting. A friend was hired at fedex in Nov who was a current line holder at CAL, not furloughed. go figure.

Like I said in previous post............................Given the current state of the Industry..(Which is unfortuately in turmoil), any airline who is currently hiring can afford to be picky..............In other words the have more pilots to pick from than Jobs........................This wasn't the case 5 years ago............and hopefully when the industry turnaround manifests itself, we ill see another hiring boom industry wide.........................

I just don't understand FedEx Mgts hiring policy...............One would think when you can hire the most qualified.(i.e Glut of Pilots with few Carriers hiring).........you would do so.

I am just a Line pilot.........what do I know

Nope not a scab. And you know me Scott. We were new hires together at Liberty Express. You me and Rob trained at PKB. I have no intention of crossing any lines. Never have never will. You guys are paranoid! Relax. Not everyone is trying to steal jobs. It was a legitimate question. I guess I didn't think it through when I first asked the question. I guess scope would not apply if they are on strike. I apologize if I ruffled anyone's feathers...

They want to fly the plane empty out of the country to protect it.

Sounds to me like the company should offer the World pilots a Fair deal.
If they did, I am sure the World Pilots would be glad to fly the A/C out of Africa.
Good Luck to the World Pilots!

Shame on anyone one who would suggest or even consider scabbing for World! (or anyone else for that matter)
