Well said!

We are now all aware of the danger involved in drinking mass quantities of Koolaid.

By the way in whom are you referring to as "we"?

I do believe a few of the usual suspects have shown their cards here...but I would hasten to add there will always be someone willing to fill what they perceive to be a market void."In Flight services" is one of those voids that has a big hole to fill with the present providers. One in which VA is providing and will do so for the forseeable future.
Spin, you have difficulty understanding what you read. I never "wished bad luck on VA". I am simply stating the facts and expressing my opinion on them regarding VA's 35 mil loss in a quarter. Perhaps I will try your ostrich approach next time, and stick my head in the sand when mis-fortunate news comes out concerning the industry.

You claim that I "just wish they would go away so the market will pay more because of the supply and demand for pilots will tip in favor of pilots? Thereby increasing your worth to your employer?"

This statement makes no sense. My previous posts says that I believe " ...the more pilots looking for job, the less valuable we are". Therefore, how would VA closing its doors increase my worth to my employer? It would decrease my worth, because more pilots would be on the street.

So the answer to your question "Have I got the gist of what "WE" are saying?" is No. You actually had it all backwards!

"By the way in whom are you referring to as "we"?

In whom? Well, I was referring to those of us that you keep crying about because you think "we" are wishing bad luck on VA. When someone forecasts a grim future for an airline, they are often just stating the facts, not wishing them bad luck. I encourage you to look back over the past few pages of this thread to find any indication that I "wish VA bad luck".

there is a big difference between forecasting a grim future for an airline for which UAL and USAir are prime candidates for that sort of talk, and praying (metaphorically) for failure..

While you specifically may not have done this, I have been on numerous threads here were Skybus primarily, but Virgin and to a lesser extent Jet Blue pilots have been demonized and electronically spat on for taking those jobs. As if most of us really have a choice where we go? Most of us just interview and get hired where Providence takes us... I've been in this industry long enough to know that the guy who went to Eastern back in 1976 was no worse than the guy who went to Delta... except the one retired a 777 CA making $300/hr and the other was out of work 3 times and is now a greeter at Walmart..

You all need to be very careful who you offend here.. this is a small business and nobody, not even Fedex and UPS are beyond failure.

Very true! But also, those who are at LCCs, and are sensitive about the current issues, need to be able to discern between the "bashers" and the "reporters". I dont bash any LCCS. In fact, I am currently at a regional and in a hiring pool (offered the job with no firm class date, long story) at an LCC. As I stated many times previously, wishing ill on any fellow pilots job, is foolish. If they become unemployed, they become competition for the next job you are looking for.

Everyone gets different opportunities. Ive decided that it usually comes down to pure luck and chance. Timing is everything in the industry and there seems to be no way to intelligently predict the right time to make a move. Its a brutal industry and hopefully, we can at least count on each other for support in raising the standard of the job.
