Default US Airways Pilots start looking for Work

To all:

USAPA won.

Today is a sad day to say the least. This will be the falling of US Airways once again, can you say 3rd BK.

Time to start putting apps. Probably to late now with other airlines on the street, but better start before the masses enter the market.

I feel sorry for my fellow pilots on the West.

Unbelievable, US Airways will be gone in less that 5 years. The East pilots could screw up a winning lottery ticket.

I don't understand why US Air pilots, who are so angry about the seniority arbitration, felt it is a good idea to take out their anger on ALPA and vote out the most powerful pilots union.

I understand why US Air guys are upset. I feel the junior east guys should not have been stapled below the most junior AWA guy. But honestly, what are they trying to accomplish by voting in USAPA.

The East pilot group has a long history of screwing themselves. In a couple years they will realize just how stupid their actions were.

We just switched from FPA to ALPA and I would give my left nut to go back.

Our Mec now works for Alpa National and has stabbed us in the back twice in the last year, "Because it is the right thing to do".

I congratulate US Airways pilots on a wonderful move.

IAH:

I wish you did understand. The fact that you don't really scares me about our, CAL's, pilot group. No disrespect intended.

And now their gonna screw you HP. The East had industry leading contracts, paying DC-9 F/O's more than AmWest 747 Captains, for decades. Had it not been for their sacrifices Doug Parker, USAirways and AmWest would be history right now. To quote "A Soldier Story", "some things just need killin' ". That "thing" would be a USAirways operating under the Nicholau award. This is just another step, although a big one, to overturn that POS. BTW, in this industry, everybody should have a resume ready.

the point is east guys agreed to arbitration and when they didn't get what they wanted they took their ball and went home...waaaa! both sides took a risk going to arbitration...i feel for the west guys!

Is it official that USAPA did indeed win? I have not seen any sort of official press release yet indicating that is the case. If it is the case, I think ALPA needs to come to grip w/ the magnitude of the situation. With the recent merger announcement from Delta/NW and talk of Continental/United, the USAPA scenario could very easily be played out again here, further weakening ALPA. It just seems like ALPA is just really out of touch right now.

Just checked USAPA's website, looks like you're right AlwaysFlying, they won by more than 500 votes. Wow.
