The rumored split is 4 aircraft to ATL and 2 for NYC for either Narita or Dubai. However if they fail to get the route authority then all the aircraft will go to Atlanta.

The AE is posted.

35 777 CA and 35 777 FO slots.

25 CA and 28 FO are in ATL, the rest are NYC.

That will almost staff one complete a/c. I guess it is logical to think they will have a big AE out this fall for the remaining a/c coming in the first half of next year. I'm wondering what seven guys in each seat does in NYC? Are they currently short?

We were told in class to expect another AE in Aug/Sept - subject to change, of course. They're trying to lead turn the training since they only have one sim for now - another is supposed to come soon.

If they are adding another sim, we can plan on more 777s coming. Two sims for 16 aircraft is a little high. I wouldn't be surprised to see at least another 20 coming in the next few years.

The second 777 sim is already here. They're putting it up as we speak in OC3. If you've ever wondered what one looks like disassembled, swing by.

I have no idea what the staffing matrix is for a sim. 16 777s requires about 512 pilots (based on 32 pilots/plane). You can round that up to 600 to included reserves and the various management types that want the rating. Do 600 pilots require more than one sim?

I agree, though, that this is a good sign we'll be adding more 777s in the future. Anderson & Co. love the airplane and the Koolaid around here is not if we exercise the options we have, but when. This also includes picking up 777s that are on the used a/c market.

We bought the 777-300 sim because it was a good price. It will work for our needs. If all of the rumbling going on is correct, look for 45-60 of these bad boys in the next five years.
