DEN base a real possibility in 2009 if F9 does end up going away. Hope they can survive, a lot of good people over there. Rumor in Mecca is that DEN airport folks have placed a hold on the terminal C expansion WN planned with an eye to WN moving to Concourse A if F9 does fade into the sunset. Just a rumor circulating among WN ops folks in DEN and at the training center in DAL. F9's fate is in the hands of the creditors and courts. No idea if the rumors about big WN expansion in DEN have some basis in truth or not. Also, although we did just open LAS as a crew base last October, SWAPA has called for at least one more pilot base ASAP to mitigate the number of 4 day trips we are seeing on the line. So another base is not out of the question in the next 12 to 18 months......JMHO.
