Default Spirit Pilots... How much time do we have?

JC entered my recurrent a few weeks ago stating these words... When asked about the current state of NK, he replied (not word for word) "We dont have to worry just yet... If Oil reaches 120 dollars, then thats a different story. Oil is at 126 plus and trending higher. How much time do we have, or is it our time at all???

With oil at $126 everyone is out of time. My guess is that either the oil bubble will burst or there will be many more bankruptcies in the U.S. airline industry. Everyone should be saving their pennies and dusting off their resume no matter who you work for.

This may be why I have always wanted to stay with a smaller company that flys a very fuel efficient T-Prop....but best of luck.

I am home almost everynight, living fine off my salary, and get to spend a good amount of my time with my family and friends. I am happy. I am not wishing bad on anyone or any company. So there is no need for you to try to get me down just because I am not on "your level".

My personal opinion is that it depends on how deep the pockets are. Im not sure anyone, even the MIGHTY SOUTHWEST will turn a profit if oil reaches 135+. Its all a matter of time. Oil either needs to go down, or a big dog needs to tank to resettle the insdusty.

"1st quarter profit" As it was presented. Means we are ok for now. I just got here but I am the anti kool-aid man. IMHO we are ok for now...

Just a question. With fuel hedged for the next 18 months shouldn't that help?

Everyone keeps talking about oil going over $120 a bbl, but folks, it was there a long time ago. CAL is paying over $156 a bbl for jet fuel, and I don't think everyone else is getting it much cheaper. The $125 a bbl you see on CNBC is for CAR oil, NOT JET FUEL. The $125 oil has to be "cracked" into jet fuel, and hence the oil companies use that excuse to sock us another 20% premium over the cost of a regular bbl. But everyone is right, this insanity has to stop. (Go ahead and flame away oil company supporters, but remember, it's YOUR job you seem so happy about extinguishing.......)

Alright Steveo.... this is one of those situations where you and I need to stay out of the conversation and let the big guys go at it.... that is if they want. You really have no dog in this fight.... so do us a favor and don't get involved... and by us I mean you, myself, and anyone else who isn't flying something with a MTOW in excess of 16,000lbs. M'kay?

CAL.... come on buddy.... you know better than to bite at us shrimps.... give the noob a break....
