Not a big fan of Airbus per se (full disclosure - never flown one except the microsoft simulator )
However, I'm impressed with the cockpit layout...

I would be interested in seeing the profit margins for it. SIA seems like a well-managed company, and I don't think they would be putting A380's into service unless they knew they could so profitably.

Zep,
don't know about flying one. But I did have a commercial DH last month from LHR-SIN and it was on the A380! They had inaugurated the route like 5 days earlier and I was in business. Needless to say it was real nice!
My seat was as wide as two coach seats on any other airline(maybe two and a half!). It even folded into like a single bed. Anyway, long story short, nice flight and business class was full. (something like 66 business seats? don't quote me on that) The rest of the plane was pretty full too. And surprisingly, it didn't take hours to get my bags. They were waiting for me. But that coulda just been Singapore airline's service! Hope this helps.
