Nwa Logo Lights
I've noticed the logo lights on most of the Northwest planes are off. Anyone know why?
One or the other. ****ed off pilots or the company is saving money. The second is my bet.
Don't need to spend money replacing them if they aren't burning out.
the reason is most of the planes dont have them installed. I wondered the same until i started working here.
Logo light. Hummmm.....
Don't you know that loads on the generators equal increased fuel consumption?!?:D;)
Delta doesn't use logo lights either so that's one thing in common.

When Delta bought Western, Western's logo lights were not used/replaced.
Supposedly the "benefit" was outweighed by the maintenance savings (!) |

Supposedly the "benefit" was outweighed by the maintenance savings (!) Wow, its a good thing that Delta is NOT buying NWA, so the 10 planes that have the logo lights can still be lit. I am not a believer that not using a light will save enough money to make it worth it. Horizon Air starting making their pilots not use the position lights during the day to save cost. Talking with the Lead MTX Tech....his quote was that there was no saving benefit. Personally, I will spend the .02 cents an hour to illuminate my aircraft as much as I can to help prevent a collision. |
I'm not saying that what the Delta "bubbas" said made sense, I'm just saying that's the reason we old "Wally Bird" guys were given...
