Oddly enough, I never hear that comment in the announcements I hear on foreign airlines.

in all fairness, since 9/11, any passenger not in 1st or business class who relies on the airline to feed him/her...
wake up, people! if you want to pay peanuts for your ticket, you're not going to get any on your trip!!!
Hell, if this keeps up, in a few more years they probably shouldn't expect to have an English-speaking flight crew, either. Oberstar, Prater, and management will see to that.

In my opinion it is about time people stop expecting 5 star treatment on a $99 coach fare from Dallas to Chicago. If you want the food and drink by a first class ticket, no money? Welcome to the club.

It is the airlines way to slowly adjust the pax to the new generation of flying, price of the ticket gets you a seat and nothing more.

In contrast on European flights on BA and Swiss all the FAs were in their 20s to mid 30s, beautifull and always smiled, I fell in love with a Swiss FA, looked like a model and actually had a conversation with me and laughed, being an FA used to be a job that young girls would take to explore the world and then move on, ever since it became a carrer it has been a disaster. But if you point that out then the PC police is all over you for age discrimination.

Especially the old hags at US Airways, never have I seen a more unpleasent (and old) group of FAs in my life. On a recent flight I asked for a drink (wich I paid 5$ for) and the FA actually said out loud that the only reason she got up from her seat was becouse I disturbed her for it! (5$ and a snappy comment!), the service standards of US airlines just keep on falling. Although I think the problem is more of a US Air east attitude, on a Cactus flight the FAs were very nice.
I was aboard a cactus flight today with an absolutely stunning young blonde FA. She was very flirtatious, too!
