From the article: Pilots tell their union they saw a dramatic increase in this kind of graffiti last May, after Alaska fired its ramp workers and hired a cheaper outside contractor, Menzies Aviation, to load the bags on planes at Sea-Tac.

That explains most of it.

Wasn't it a bunch of Menzies knuckleheads that had a gang fight on the ramp at SEA-TAC last year?

From what I hear, these are the same yahoos that hit an airplane with a baggage cart, and didn't tell anyone. The plane had a rapid decompression at flight levels from what I remember. Looks like Alaska has fully joined the race to the bottom!

Unhappy wow

Seems to be the new thing with airlines...get rid of your employees that have years of service...so as to rid themselves of the pay and insurance...and hire a company like this one for Alaska...like flybywire said..you get what you pay for...unreal...

The Alaska Airlines baggage handlers had it pretty good; good pay, health ins, time off, flex schedule. If only the Horizon pilots had it so good.
