Default QS about flying hours

Reading bunch of posts about flying hours, I have read that pilots can not fly more then 1000 hours, and then I read that some can fly up to 1200hr. I realize they are under different FAR 121 and 135. I guess my question is what is the max amount of hours you can fly at your airline?

All airlines, including cargo carriers who operate under part 121 have these limits:

Minimum 8 hours Rest in 24 (this is actually far more complicated...)
Minimum 24 hour rest period every 7 days.
8 Hours max flying in 24.
30 hours max flying in 7 days.
100 hours max flying per month.
1000 hours max flying per year.

Most pilots don't fly more than 85 hours month or you reach the 1000/year limit early (but some guys try to do that intentionally...free vacation the last few weeks of December)

I believe you can go 120/month and 1200/year in 135, not sure about their rest.

Jet Blue management needs to get a waiver from this rule also, there pilots want to fly 130 hour a month to give the company better productivity!

In flag operations, you can fly 32 hours in 7 days.

It was 1200/120/34 (yr/mo/week) when I flew the 1900 PART 121! 1000/100/30 on the jet.

That's right, there was (maybe still is) an exemption that allowed turboprop airline operations that were forced to go from 135 to 121 to keep the old 135 limits.

To get an accurate interpretation of the reguations without suppositions, I recommend you look up the following FARs

Subpart Q—Flight Time Limitations and Rest Requirements: Domestic Operations
Beginning with FAR Part § 121.470
Source: Docket No. 23634, 50 FR 29319, July 18, 1985, unless otherwise noted

Subpart R—Flight Time Limitations: Flag Operations
Beginning with FAR Part § 121.480
Source: Docket No. 6258, 29 FR 19217, Dec. 31, 1964; 30 FR 3639, Mar. 19 1965, unless otherwise noted.

Subpart S—Flight Time Limitations: Supplemental Operations
Beginning with FAR Part § 121.500
Source: Docket No. 6258, 29 FR 19218, Dec. 31, 1964; 30 FR 3639, Mar. 19 1965, unless otherwise noted.

You cant go wrong by looking up the FARs.

135 unscheduled is 500/quarter, 800 in 2 quarters, 1400 a year. Its been a couple of years snce I've flown it don't know if there was any changes. 121 supplemental international is (3 place a/c) 12/day, 120/month 1,000/year.
