The delta website says the 7:00 flight (1581) arrived, flight aware says it doesn't know if it has arrived.

I was on the ramp at about 5 or so and heard a loud bang. Looked over and saw a 737 rotating with a blown tire. I bet thats the one.

Blown tire...

Delta plane makes emergency landing at JFK airport | ajc.com

"Flight 141, which was bound for Salt Lake City, circled Kennedy for several hours to burn off fuel, then dumped extra fuel over a nearby body of water before landing, said Alan Hicks, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which oversees the airport."

A 737 that can dump fuel...??

Seems simple enough. Blow tire on take-off, circle for 2 hours to get to max landing weight, and then DUMP EXCESS FUEL??? Am I missing something here?

I assuming that with 167 pax on board that it was an "NG". Do they have fuel dumping capability?

Not sure it's been a few years, but can a 73 dump anything?

No. Now the traveling public is going to assume that all those extra fees are being dumped into our waterways on a regular basis. Nice work Port Authority.

The only thing the -800 can dump is poop following a flight. There is no fuel dumping capability on it. In fact, only the 767ER, 400 and 777 are able to dump fuel. I'm speaking for DAL aircraft only.
