I know its on the -800 but I seem to recall its on the -200 as well. Although its been seven years since I did school on that.

I asked because I'd never heard of it either. Having previously flown the NG I am surprised I never read about it or had it pointed out by instructors in class or IOE. Hmmmm

The frangible impact fitting is a very simple device that when sheared off (ostensibly by pieces of shredded tire) will free fall the gear so the damaged tire does not enter the well and damage hyd lines, tubes, cables...
