yes you can. I flew for CO EX 5 years ago, I did that flight at least 10 times, had a few jump sitters. Those flights are usually full, but yes you can.

not sure if this works for you, but you can also take AA to DFW and then try it from there....

I flew for Express for 9 years. I'm pretty sure you can sit up front but you must be listed on the passenger manafest and clear U.S. customs as a passenger. You can not use the crew line! And If I miss spelled anything my excuse for today is "I just woke up". Good luck comming home.

You are correct....Offline Jumpseaters are not allowed to occupy the actual JS, but are allowed to be a "jumpseater" while occupying an available seat in the passenger cabin....this is true on Int'l flights. We just had this case last month and were able to look it up in the ops manual and it states this very clearly. If you have any problems at the gate, try and speak in the Captain directly if possible. I'm sure he or she will help out the best they can.

If there are any departure taxes from the place you are departing, you will have to pay them as a regular passenger, but they should be nominal at best.

Good luck.

ALPA is working hard with the TSA to have the cockpit restriction removed on international flights. Should happen before the end of the year.
