If you are a gambling man get out now and hope you get on with FedEx or UPS. In my opinion these are the only two companies that someone in your position should shoot for. If you are not a gambling man I would suggest that you stay in, get your retirement from the Navy, and then peruse either an airline career or a job in corporate aviation.
Good luck! |

Hired by CAL (737's Newark) last July, dropped the letter, terminal leave, retired in Dec. So far life is good, no complaints. Commute from Annapolis MD. T-34's P'Cola sounds sweet, no more 35 yr old helos trying to kill you. Take care [email protected] |

I also agree with the seniority thing. It is about the only thing that is keeping the dream for flying for FEDEX alive for me. I recently got intov the FTS community and now have a contract until 11 1/2 years in the military. Good thing is I am going to a squadron that has a lot of reserves that are in FEDEX. Maybe I can get on someones good side for a recommendation. On another note, For living in MEM where is the best schools or houses located at? Also do you know where to avoid? P3pilot |
To keep it short and sweet... stay in... job security and pension. The airlines will still be around in 6 years. If you are able to get a land base in Europe, you can get your JAR certificate and be doubly marketable.
