From your perspective as pilots, will this help to make a difference? Is it a at least a beginning for something better? Will he be able to mediate between mgmt and pilots?

Curious to hear what you have to say.

Not much will make a difference at UAL as long as Tilton and his cronies are in charge. I have nothing at all to do with United, but even from an outsider's perspective, he needs to go now so that United can have a future.

It will make no difference at all. UAL will continue to farm out flying to RJ's and Death Star Alliance partners until they can convince some other company to buy them..or they are cut up and sold off. Before the spears start, yes I am a pilot at UAL....the writing is on the wall.

Tilton has to go? And be replaced by whom? Another guy exactly like him (as UAL history shows). Look at the UAL CEOs' from the past 10 years--a brief honeymoon followed by a call for his head, followed by a golden parachute, followed by a new CEO, followed by a brief honeymoon, followed by a call for his head, followed by a golden parachute....and on and on and....
