freight is great!

My corporate overlords will be hiring on in 2009 as well. Not sure how many people here that helps, but there it is.

*Edit: Domestically, I know Allegiant Air is taking on more. A buddy of mine just got on thanks to their RDM-AZA route they're opening in the near future. Poor bastard's so desperate he's willing to take on a Douglas Death Tube.

Maybe. Some are saying hiring to begin this fall (octoberish), others are saying springtime. I know we are short on the -88 but overstaffed on the 75/76 domestic. Might see displacements rather than new hires on the -88.

Just curious, where are we short on the Maddog? In NYC, we have 30 something reserve guys. It seems like overkill since I think theres only 50 or so regular guys in category.

ATL's been short, at least through this month. I flew 89 hours for July, on reserve (I do yellow slip, though).

I guess it makes sense. Almost everytime I was called out on reserve, I deadheaded down to Atlanta. Atlanta Maddogs have some very nice trips.

I didn't mind NY flying but didn't like the day trips. I would much rather get a 3 or 4 day and forget about reserve for a bit. Your right the only multiday trips in NYC are modified ATL trips. Seems like you would want to run ATL fat and deadhead to NY since it's 3 times the size. What do I know though??

I have always wanted to fly for 121 airlines but it does not seem worth it anymore. I cannot afford to go back to making less then 40 grand again and having to commute or live in an overpriced city. SWA is about the only 121 passenger hauler that I would ever consider but lets face it their are thousands of RJ captains just chomping at the bit to get on. I do enjoy the Charter side of flying much more then I thought I would, its just fun flying and it may be more stable then the airlines. I say it maybe more stable because my flying has went down substantially since last year. In my opinion the way to make it in this career is to make as much money as possible and keep moving up in pay not taking a cut for 5 years just so you get to fly cool equipment. This seems to be getting harder to accomplish.

World Airways!
