They arent hiring. Once they start hiring again, they will publish their minimums. When they stopped hiring they were hiring people with 4 year degrees, 1500+ hour total time and 1000 hours multi and 500 hours turbine. But as flooded as the pilot market is right now I would expect when they start hiring again their mins will be higher than that.

Well, their website says they are not accepting pilot applications at this time, so I don't think you have enough hours yet.

Kidding aside, when they were hiring back in the spring their mins were something like 1500TT, 1000 Turbine, 1000PIC and an ATP. High School or GED.

Competitive numbers were around 4000-6000 hrs, 4-year degree, and 2000 TPIC.

Last I heard, they were taking airline guys with about 3,000TT. In today's hiring enviroment, if they were hiring, you would need probably 3,000TT, 1,000TPIC, ATP, 121 experience and internal rec's... and that's not even competitive.

Maybe you work there, but actually WHEN they were hiring in the spring, so was EVERYBODY else.

The competitive times went down, as well as a simplified hiring system. No more of the multi phase process that had guys waiting for months to get the yeah of nay.

3 guys I know got in at that time with below the competitive mines. Two years ago they wouldn't even get looked at, even with internals.

Yes it use to be 1500TT, 1000 tubine, turbo prop had to be 20,000lbs, jet 12,500lbs. Forget what PIC mins were but average hiring times were 4-5000TT with 1500-2000TPIC. B1900 time did not count.
They changed it last year to include all turbo prop time and case by case for PIC.
When we start to hire again, some time in 09' Im almost positive it will go back to the old mins with all the people on the street.
I belive we have 50 pilots hired that are still waiting for a class date.

With the current domestic economy situation I would be very surprised if any airline other then SWA with a primary domestic focus hires next year. Fleet plans are changing as we speak and companies are looking to perhaps pull back even more. The NY area is going to be very hard hit and it is quite likely that Jet Blue may sell more aircraft assets. Several sales have already been announced for next year. I think we are now several years away from any real hiring by any domestic airline.
