From what I've read we get a fixed number of shares. The price when issued will determine whether or not it all goes into the retirement accounts or some comes as cash. I think none of it comes to us until 2009, however, but I think the price will be the stock price at close of business on DCC. Also, ALPA is trying to arrange a block sale so we get a higher value and no stock in the account.

The company will provide a specific number of shares for each pilot. There is not a official date of value. Dalpa and I believe it is a joint effort with the NWA mec have hired the same firm that did so well on the claim sale to market and sell the stock. They may choose to hold the stock for some period looking for the best moment to sell. I would not expect it to be sold prior to 1 Jan for tax reasons. Most Delta pilots are at the 415C limit this year.

Is it a joint effort with "Nalpa"? Enough with the "Dalpa", please.

I was hoping for more like 15 or 20!

Not likely as I am sure they will move to close the merger quickly.

We could do one of those pools and see who gets the date right...and we could do that with the stock price.

Hell how about today....This article is timed stamped at 6:19pm

It refers to it as completed, not sure if that means DCC. Jdung by the limited stuff I see on DLnet, it sounds complete.
Delta finalizes Northwest deal

New combined carrier to be headquartered in Atlanta, and companies will merge operations over next 18 months.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Delta Air Lines has completed its $2.8 billion deal to acquire Northwest Airlines, creating the world's biggest carrier.
The announcement late Wednesday marked a swift conclusion to the deal. Earlier in the day, the Justice Department granted antitrust approval, and a lawyer for 28 air travelers who had sued to block the deal said the parties had settled the case.
The new Delta (DAL, Fortune 500) will be headquartered in Atlanta, and Delta chief Richard Anderson will head the combined carrier, which will integrate over the next 18 months.
