I could see HKG. With One World they will be able to stream passengers seamlessly between the US and Hong Kong. also most international growth is in Asia. I would bet you could see DFW-HKG.

Nov 1 AA added Salvador de Bahia Brazil and also Recife Brazil. Flown out of Miami as a 3 day trip. All nighter to SSA then daytime thru REC to MIA.

MIA to MAD (Madrid) is now a 777 out of MIA from a 767. This MAy AA JFK resumed Barcelona and Milan.

Also MIA on Nov 1 resumed GND (Grenada) out of MIA.

MIA SCL will switch to a 777 and might run a 767 3-5 nights a week. And GRU (Sao Paulo Brazil) will switch to all 777 in Dec. 4 flights a day/night.

Our Airbus's are like STD's, some medications relieve the symptoms, but not a cure!
I don't think they're gonna park em' with fuel at 60-70.
I read somewhere that the Airbus' we lease are only 65K a month. I think that's cheap.

These are just some of the changes I know of. Our FA's always know more than the pilots here about new/changes to the schedules.

I don't see that happening - you can buy a ticket from HKG to DFW on American - the first leg is flown by Cathay Pacific but it has a AA flight number (code share obivously) but AA gets some of the revenue without any of the risk of filling a whole airplane.

We will be getting a couple of new Europe routes out of JFK in the next few years with 757s. Sounds like Nice, Lyon, Amsterdam and two German cities. Also look for MIA-BCN and possibly DFW-MAD. Nothing on the horizon yet for Asia/Middle East. They are adding new service very cautiously.

Any chance AA has any big plans to bring back furloughed pilots with the possibility of new added routes?

No. Not even heard that hinted at. Lots of cogs in the machine in motion with an unknown number of retirements 1 Dec ("B" fund drops off the edge of the cliff after 1 Dec), a major violation of scope by the company with regards to the 7300 AA employed pilot floor, an economy that's nosediving, a feckless AA leadership, and the section 6 contract negotiations put at a virtual standstill by management.

My gut feeling is it's going to be a long long time before AA recalls again. I wish it wasn't so, but nobody has any faith whatsoever in the present management.

On the other hand, Delta will likely be hiring and their corporate leadership actually has a strategic future vision for the company.

While it's expected in this industry for management to lack vision, how does APA stack up in that department? Are you satisfied that they're looking forward, or are they using the strategy and tactics of the past?

Actually, Wheels up, I can see AA starting recalls again by next spring. Especially since they are starting to make noises about not parking the 80s anymore. Just a gut feeling, your mileage may vary.

Default 1 Dec

Regarding retirements, a recently retired AA Captain mentioned to me that there may be a couple hundred of retirements come Dec 1st. Is that possible? If so, how would that affect AA?
