I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I've always wondered: Why is it that the Northwest paint scheme doesn't go all the way to the base of the tail on any of its aircraft? I thought a couple times that maybe it was for uniformity of the actual "compass" on the tail, but that's in different locations and sizes on different aircraft. I just always wondered why there's a silver stripe at the bottom of the new pain scheme.
9000 miles...that would be a charming flight.
New York to Hong Kong is around 8000. New York to Sydney is 9900 miles, and New York to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is 9300 miles.
Almost 20 hours of flying. I think you'd have to hide all the sharp objects from me if I had to endure that.
I guess on a 20 hour flight, people would start using the seat back pockets because the lavs would overflow by the time they got to the second inflight movie-An Inflight Classic, "To P or not to P-Try not to wake your neighbor.

The NWA plan a couple years ago was to have already parked all the 742's replace them with the 744's and replace those with the 787's for the passenger flying. Of course with all the delays in the 787 (and now the merger) those plans are now changed.

Les engines de 787 sont sans couleur parsque Boeing croix cest vrai!
I'm sure that was painful ;-)
Boieng is doing the Henry Ford thing for the 787 engines.
Any color you like as long as it's grey.
How's the ER treating you?
