Alaska Sim
Can anyone confirm first-hand that the Alaska sim eval is dead?
I've heard all the rumors:
> "it's all gone because the MD-80 sim is gone(or going away)"
> "no sim for current pt. 121 pilots"
> "no sim for current jet pilots"
> "sim eval is on a case-by-case basis"
Thanks for your help.
It's crunch time!

I can confirm that not all candidates have to take a sim ride. I spoke to a new hire recently and he confirmed that he did not take a sim ride. He was a current RJ capt at the time of the interview. He gave me the impression that highly qualified, current pilots do not fly the sim.
