Well, at least one pilot will retire properly.....(rightfully so)
It’s been a while since the nation went wild over Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger after his heroic Hudson River splashdown at the helm of US Airways flight 1549 on Jan. 15.
But book publisher HarperCollins believes that we have much, much more to learn about (and from) Sully, which is why the publisher’s William Morrow imprint is reportedly paying the California pilot $2.5 million to $3 million to write two books, according to Crain’s New York Business. Crain’s Matthew Flamm writes:
According to one editor who met with the pilot, the proposed book would revolve around the idea that “his whole life experience led up to this moment [of the landing],” and would include lessons on facing life’s challenges.
“It would be mainly a narrative of his life and the key moments that prepared him,” the editor said, adding that Mr. Sullenberger came across in the meeting as “the real thing. There’s a lot more substance to him than most people getting their 15 minutes of fame.”
Meanwhile over at the Daily Beast, Sara Nelson reports that the second of Sully’s two books will be “a collection of Sully’s inspirational poems.” Nelson doesn’t cite a source for that tantalizing snippet, and we haven’t been able to confirm it either, but it’s an interesting rumor.

Awesome, good for him.
I also heard from a non-reliable source that the invisible first officer landed a movie deal in a “Co-Pilots Gone Wild” episode.
It’s also rumored he will consult the military on cloaking technology for the F22 stealth fighter and additionally he might start a small business selling ipods, backpacks and hair gel.

Poems?? Are you kidding me? He's suppose to be this media tough guy!
Maybe he will appear on the cover wearing a tie-dyed t-shirt, a headband, and playing guitar like that hippie teacher from the "Beavis and Butthead" episodes!! hahahaha
