Re-read the article...CAL CEO was saying that CAL is in better shape than some (not saying much) w/ it's "newer" fleet. I guess he was comparing CAL to certain airlines depending on the subject...fleet, amenities, etc.
The MD-80 made AAL what it is today--but they are the bulk of the fleet and are old and not the most fuel efficient...most of my AA buds don't want to go back to it (acft wise) after flying 75/76 or 73 for that matter. |
