International Pay
Hey anyone,
I'm dissecting this crappy TA that we have now, at Alaska, and I was wondering how this one part of pay matched up with some of you at the other companies....i.e. United, Delta, America, Continental, US, etc. etc.... Does anybody, if not all of you, get international pay (override) when flying into and out of Canada, specifically, from the lower 48. We, at Alaska, are paid the same when flying into and out of Canada the same as if we stayed domestic for the same time. I was wondering how we stacked up, if at all, with all the rest of you....... Thanks, LAXFO |
At UPS it's any airport outside the contiguous 48 states. $6.50 for Capts/$4.50 for FOs.

At UAL, same pay anyplace in the world. International per diem is a couple of cents an hour more.

At American International override pay is $4 for FO and $6 for CA.
We treat Carib, Central and South America, Hawaii, Far East & Europe of course as International. We do allow JSer's to US Virgin Island (treated as Dom flt except must be Int'l pilots) One of my UAL friends told me Central and top portion of South America is considered Domestic for pilots. At American for the last few years they've been mixing alot of domestic into our Caribbean lines and trips. It limits what you can trade for due to one trip now makes you fall under 30 in 7 for line holders and reserve. Go get em' Alaska! |

JetBlue doesn't pay squat for an international overide.
No surprizes there! In fact, Jetblue doesn't pay squat Period! Stay in school kids! JJ |
FedEx has an override (per flt hour) of $9 for Captains, $7 for F/O and $6 for S/O. Per Diem is slightly higher as well.

Same sub-par wages anywhere in the world with CAL.
Int'l per diem is a few cents more, though still not enough to cover a meal outside of McDonald's in most cities abroad. Did I mention we have the honor of taking our crew rest back in coach? |
