It does not change the fact that once we see more than our JFK-CDG flights given to others in this JV, senior guys may take notice of scope, and its effects on everyone on the seniority list.

Your right. We gave up one flight to Air France. Of course as a result of the agreement we started SLC-CDG, 4 LHR flights and are planning PHL, PIT and RDU to CDG on the next 12 months. None of which would have happened if we were not in the alliance. If we were to drop out of the alliance we would see a large reduction in international flying not a gain.

I am not proposing dropping out at all sailing. I think it is a great way to secure our place at the top of the heap. What I am saying, is lets not make the same mistakes to the top end as we did to the bottom.
Lucky for us, we are the cheap labor and AF and KLM are the expensive ones. But, we need to deal with that too!

Don't forget that Air France lent us their LHR slots for free. I think CAL paid $209 million for theirs. PIT-CDG starts June 3rd.

Although on the surface it looks like Air France is taking from us, Delta and ua pilots are gaining a lot from the JV.

This one article by one reporter was completely wrong. It has been out since May 26. It was refuted May 29, with information that was not yet public derived only from ALPA's access to management. And you bash the union for going through the proper process with management to address your concerns....

Reminds me of the "gross weight increase" that sent the scope chickens running...

Chicken Little, the sky is falling!
Slowplay,

You're right, I jumped the gun as usual. Thanks for putting it into perspective.

Thanks for letting me know. Still a rookie learning the ropes.
