Great minds think alike! I sent it as well a few hours ago. With his support for the Wounded Warriors group I think he'll sink his teeth into this one.

What... no Keith Olbermann? He's the best media buddy our servicemen ever had!

Or, maybe notsomuch...

I believe O'Reilly is the best to get this. Because he can ask Geraldo, who has been on the front line, to come on the show, and they can both bash CAL and red coats at the same time....Can't wait!! I got my DVR on record...

Nice job guys, this needs to be exposed

RAHPilot5 05-29-2009 09:23 PM

Thank you for posting the story. I hope the captain gets his/her job back. Best wishes!

Just to put this in perspective the real story here is not about the red coat or the Marine. The Red Coat is just a little minion in the big scheme of things. This story is about a concerted effort on the part of middle management to harass and demoralize the pilot group. No red coat is going to come close to challenging a Captain unless she believes she has the backing of her station manager who gets his marching orders from IAH. And I can assure you the CPO can see the rhetoric for what it is and they chose to escalate it. Why? Because that is what Smith Street wants. These Chief Pilots are just little Fred Abbot puppets willing to promote the whims of Fred.

There is a real battle being waged against the pilots right now. Unfortunately there will be fallout and costs associated with this battle. We'll see who has the fortitude and tenacity to see this through. My bet is it won't be Smith St. They'll crumble as soon as they get even a little visibility.

Having worked with Marines I have the deepest respect for what they do. What's happening here is no less than an abomination.

If there were a way to foward this information up the USMC Chain of Command. Maybe perhaps starting with an email to the doctor or commander of the wounded Marine. I have a good feeling that if this was brought to thier attention, they would act! If handled right, a nice letter from the Commandant of the Marine Corp to the CEO on the Capt's behalf would squash this like a bug!

Out friggen ragious!

The USMC has a legislative liaison on Capitol Hill, no?

That might be a good avenue to pursue as well...

A wounded Marine would be sent by air ambulence (military medivac) if his doctor determined it was required - but it certainly isn't always required.

You are 100 percent correct. That is why a passenger with a obvious injury or medical illness is normally required to have a letter from his doctor stating he is OK to fly via commercial air. I just asked a Dr I know if a patient on his way to have Brain surgery in great pain after being wounded would be flying commercial air. He just laughed and said your kidding right? Then he lost me with a discussion on brain injuries and the monitoring and equipment required. His last statement was that if this story is true then someone needs to investigate the Marine Corp and their actions in sending this person commercial air.

I am 100 percent behind the Captain trying to help a service member and I do it all the time if I can myself. However something is just not quite right with this story. P.S. I am a veteran of 3 of the 4 US armed services. Only missed the Army.
