Default CAL pilots, how come...

I was just thinking, the 762-seats 174 people, while the 752 seats 172, and 753 seats 216. Both airplanes have two class configuration. My question is, why does a 762 pilot gets paid more then 752/3. I realize that one is a wide body (and has a greater MTOW) and the other one is not, but in a long run the 75s carry just as many or more people.

Contracts USED to be based on weight and speed, NOT pax. Don't know about these days.

Pay scales don't have to make sense. You get whatever you negotiate in your contract, unless the company threatens or declares bankruptcy. Then you don't.

If you're trying to compare pay vs. revenue generated, consider that a 767-200 has a greater capacity for cargo than a 757-200 ( even though, according to one of our former leaders, "There's no money in cargo.").

How come I get paid the same flying a tiny 727 as a pilot flying the big 747?

I don't know! Maybe you should tell your airline to pay you less!

Aren't the 767 and 757-300 considered wide-bodies as far as pay is concerned?

We don't fly people, therefore we don't take paycuts!
