I was pretty much ready to cancel my membership to this site today as it was hard to see the separation from this and Flight Info - or Jerry Springer for that matter. After a little encouraging from the Mods - I figured I'd stick around. If nothing else, for ACL65's insider info, the Military threads, and the entertainment value anyway. However, the moderators have to do something to maintain this as a site for PROFESSIONAL Airline Pilots, and those who support the PROFESSION. Either get rid of the TROLLS and flamers - or, the real professionals will leave so as not to be associated with them and their opinions.
What was it my dad used to say about arguing with fools .............
I'm all for the ban - press

I'll withhold my vote until I see the name of the deceased.
It's very common for military pilots to not "get it" with respect to labor strikes. I didn't until I was hired by an airline and watched a group of spineless individuals spit in the face of every professional pilot by crossing the picket line.
For those who cross a picket line, there is no forgiveness. Ever.

I'm a professional. I don't wish death on the guy. However, if he was a SCAB, I don't consider him 'one of us'. I won't rejoice in nor mourn his death.

I never am happy in the death of an individual. I will not however, heap praise upon one who crossed a picket line.
He made his choice to cross that line. As a professional pilot, I will not mourn him.
I will feel sorry for his family, but he will get no sympathy.

There really are some disgusting human beings on this site. I hope that when the day comes for you, your legacy is judged by the misdeads that you've commited.
And you'll get no sympathy from me.

I am deathly close to canceling my membership as well as contacting advertisers to let them know the kinds of things they are supporting. There have been very few times in my life where I have been more appalled than I am now. It is sickening.

Mod note:
It's one thing to have a somewhat respectable discussion about a personal decision to not mourn a scab. It's another to throw out one liner flamebait about a guy who has been dead less than 12 hours and who's name hasn't even been released. I'm not sure if we should be moderating out "classlessness". But we can certainly moderate out flamebait.
In any case, we don't "vote" on who to ban, here.
There are a few things users can do that are constructive.
1) Report offensive posts via the forum software. This will allow all the mods to see the post and decide if it's a violation of TOS.
2) Send a PM to HSLD. Perhaps certain users should be shown the door. HSLD is the best person to make that call.
3) Let the thread self moderate by respectfully giving your input. The problem users tend to stick out like a sore thumb because they are unable to post in a respectable manner.
With that said, I'm locking this thread as voting on banning people isn't an appropriate discussion for the forums.
