Ashamed - Major and Regional Please Read
I was off today and I had the opportunity to watch the news about the unfortuntate events that happened with Continental Airlines this morning.
And then I logged onto APC to see if there was any additional information. I was not surprised that there were postings about this even before the flight landed. I expected and saw postings about condolences to the family and friends, wishing tailwinds, etc...
What I did not expect was to see more than one post about how this guy was a SCAB.
I am, quite honestly, ashamed to be associated with an industry that would do this. A pilot DIED. One of OUR brothers DIED. A husband DIED. A father DIED. A grandfather DIED.
A family is going to be working through their grief and all that we do is bring up history about how this guy screwed the airline industry, etc. Regardless of what happened in the past, someone died today.
Yes, I am just a regional pilot. What the hell do I know? I have only been in the industry for ten years. I'll tell you what I know - I know that a family lost a loved one today and they are going through a very tough time. That's all that I know and that's all that I need to know.
Maybe some of you should look in the mirror.

I agree with you, EEmbraer. Most people are probably mature and compassionate. Don't let a few bitter people ruin your attitude though. I think whiners just make more (annoying) noise than those with the sweet sound of kindness and compassion...

Im just so embarrassed that the public can actually read this stuff.
What a dissapointment some of you guys are to the profession. Some of you are too coward to say these things in real life, so you hide behind your keyboard and spew your anonymous venom. Shame on you guys.
Your dark souls will be judged by a higher light.
RIP to the fallen comrade.
