EMIRATES - 250hrs Frozen ATPL
hi all,
just wanted to know ur views & all,:D as u may have heard, Emirates are having some trouble with getting pilots, they need 200 pilots a year, and they are now saying that they are willing to get pilots will no or little flying experience on type. would you think they would employ someone with 250 total flight time, nd a type rating on 737, straight out of flying school. (Oxford aviation training - Uk) good day all, Hamid |
Hamid, they aren`t that desperate...yet. I do know that they have upped the max age(for getting hired)...don`t know what the new limits are though. Good luck with your career. Get some time with a small outfit for awhile.

that may be the case, hhmmmm, i just really want to be with Emirates after my flight training.
does anyone think it will be possible for this to happen? if Emirates did get desprete, would they get fresh pilots from advances training schools (oxford aviation - UK), and type train them?? im moving to Dubai UAE within the next 2 years, and just trying to research on wheather it would be possible. good day all:D Hamid:cool: |
The insurance company will always decide what this posts question asks...But if Emirates is willing to pay hi insurance costs (And they have the cash)...Then they can fill the cockpits with anyone who can pass a written test, oral, checkride, and line check...Good luck with your quest.

Oxford
Doe this Oxford flight school a section of the University? What are the costs? Does this program allow you to obtain a degree while flying?
|
Oxford aviation training is not part of a university, its just a good flying school that actually prepares you to fly for an airline. there are a few courses availible to choose from, but the best is the airline preperation program - APP, and the costs are kind of high, £65,000, 68 weeks.

Could that requirement be lowered? = Yes, but so far it has not been. Could EK start hiring Second Officers at 2000 total? = Yes, but probably not for a few more years. I would go to Easyjet or Ryanair and build your time up. Typhoonpilot |
