You remind me of this one pilot we used to have at a previous airline. He was from the Middle East and the vast majority of people struggled with his heavy accent; in fact ATC would routinely ask him to repeat what he'd just said so his nickname became "say again."

She listened patiently and said "Hon, I'm really sorry but I'm not sure what you just said, would you please repeat it?" That's when he got really mad and with a great deal of disgust in his voice yelled out "Woman! I speak five languages and you only speak one! - why can't you understand me!?!?!?
The lady who was a sweetheart and a true Southern Belle replied in her sweet North Carolina accent "Sugar pie - if English is one of the five then no, you only speak four!" Priceless!
