But for the grace of god go I is my only comment on the NWA guys. The other stuff makes me glad I fly freight. The Pax guys should get paid more just for the PITA passengers they have to deal with on a daily basis.

Unfortunately I was forced back into fax service after our 727 cargo company had its conract terminated in 2005.

Damn... I miss cago... no passengers and no cabin crew:(.

Cargo Kaninus all the way;).

Sorry guys but until the investigation is complete this thread is useless. All the speculation makes you and the profession look bad. Stop paying attention to the tabloids and give the crew a little breathing room while the facts are played out. To do otherwise is foolish.

If the didn't realize the radios hadn't been switched over do to heated conversation until they hit MSP then it's logical that they would be forced to continue on do to security reasons.

My problem with this whole story is that the pieces just don't add up, and frankly, when did we all start believing in the media for accuracy?

BINGO . . .

The NTSB has already effectively shut down the "sleeping" theory, and the "heated discussion" theory.

Oddly enough, I don't see non-stop top of the hour TV talking head updates on this for some strange reason.

Nor do I see a bunch of APC posters who've been slamming the NWA guys for "sleeping" coming on and eating crow yet.

Latest I've seen from the NTSB

NTSB: Overfly pilots immersed in scheduling discussion on laptops

I had to smile politely at more than one pax this weekend when they cracked a "thanks for staying awake" joke as the disembarked.

Hah hah! I can see it now, the US Congress leaps into action and forces the shutdown of Airline Pilot Central in the interests of passenger safety!

So who cares what happened in the cockpit? Someone list a reason why in the world these two guys should not be fired (permanently)? We've all made mistakes (I certainly have) in the cockpit and luckily I didn't crash or get violated but "it could happen to anyone" is not a legitimate excuse. This sort of lack of situational awareness is completely unprofessional and flies in the face of the qualities REQUIRED of commercial pilots - no excuse they could come up with in line with their statements of record would justify not firing them. They have no business flying commercial aircraft.

This is far worse than the other "theory" and the "lie"....These two should be fired and they have harmed this profession more than the "regional" pilots have....

Look at the threads, and posts for the disillusioned kool-aide drinkers who criticized the nay-sayers for stating their opinions who for some unknown reason who buried their heads in the sand because they wanted to believe that there was a reasonable explanation as to why these two individuals were innocent.
