Yes, I think someone talked about a RJ pull down in JFK, but I think some of those will end up in LGA, going to SYR, ROC, BUF etc to use some of those RJ slots we're getting in LGA.

I though CVG was getting a reduction in RJ flying as well. Unfortunately for Comair, reductions in JFK and reduction in CVG leaves a even smaller operation.

I am looking at my AMEX skyguide booklet for nov09...CVG pages are FEW...I can only find 13 narrowbody DL destinations and 1 international DL 767 flight out of cvg...some of those are once a day only....MEM actually has more DL flying than cvg...much of it DC-9 but a 9 is not an RJ...

Ladies and Gents,

New to the forum and obviously there isn't much movement in the airline world. Seems like Delta-west is stable at least. I am a military type guy with a couple years left on my contract. I have a couple buddies furloughed from United who tell me that the 65ers are going to be punching out here in the next two to three years. Any validity to that statement? Sorry if this reply is not on point with the current discussion.

Actually, looking at the flight schedule, looks like about 35. Dwindling down to just over 30 in January. Losing BOS and LGA on the mainline, if the schedule is correct.

This is very true, in the next few years the retirements start in full force and there will be alot of them year after year for the next 20+ years. (That assumes all go to 65 as well which is unlikely so the numbers should come quicker). Around 2016 or 17 we will lose around 800 pilots a year for 4 years in a row. That's pushing 40% of the pilot list gone in a 4 year span!! :)

all we need is time and the movement will start and continue based Ailey on attrition, any growth would just be gravy ;)

I have a pretty good source that agrees with this rumor except the time will be moved to SEA to open a 7ER base there. This wont happen this winter but will more then likely be in a fall 10 bid.

Translation-

DC9- The guys with maps, E6B's and lots of chest hair.
M88- MD88 (MD90 qualified bases are CVG and SLC)
73N- 737-700/800
320- A319/320
755- 757 domestic and worldwide qualified
767- 767/757 "domestic" (dont wander farther than 3 degrees south of the equator and no full ocean crossings
7ER- 767/757 domestic and worldwide qualified

755 guys will changeover to 7ER early next year. The SLC M88/90 base will be shifting to MSP...and an equal amount of 320 drivers will head out to SLC from MSP.

Those are the only changes that are in stone.

Where will the 787-900 go?

Yeah, I think they will be basing that out of Narnia International Airport.
