Eighteen months? I wonder where they came up with that number? There will either be an agreement next year because of a merger or this will drag on for at least two to three more years before we are released to "self help." Northwest was allowed to strike and American was not. Me thinks it has something to do with the time of year and the economy. Two years from now if the economy is clicking along then I think B.O. will let it go down. IMHO

Uh. I think I'll need the 5 year plan.

My confidence is in the negotiating committee. Don't worry, I'm ready to strike but just don't think it will happen so soon. And I also have my NO vote standing by if round 1 lays a turd on us like PBS.

.....+1 with ANY compromise on SCOPE.

If we have not learned from other's 'mistakes' on the topic, might as well burn the binder and not work under a CBA.

Captain Bligh 12-06-2009 08:21 AM

There's no way they'd try to ramrod scope changes through on the QT is there?

There are some nasty rumours floating around that base reps got a summary that didn't have the scope section in it.

Why don't CAL & ALPA just do the right thing? Buy some 100 seat jets and negotiate a pay scale for mainline people to fly them! No hard feelings that way. Everyone would be happy and they could buy as many as they want.
