The good people of the state of Wisconsin might just have something to say about that. Being that Republic's current adventure in MKE is largely dependent on MEH brand loyalty, and all. Insulting your brand's home city and trivializing your customer service are not good ways to make an impression.
The rest of the airline industry is only now learning what those of us who had the misfortune of working for him (and were paying attention) already know - BB's an arrogant, endlessly yammering, self-aggrandizing Christian-in-name-only who has reached his current position owing primarily to the failures of other airline managers to run their own companies. In other words, he's an airline CEO. Just louder and more aggressive than most. |
Must have never been to Milwaukee. It's a great town with great people! I miss the Midwest that cared
|
Time is coming where MKE fliers are going to have a lot of choices and a lot of low fares from a lot of reputable carriers. They will learn that Midwest not only is owned by some no-name airline now, only exists as a brand, and that brand has been turned into a crappy excuse of its former self because the new owner thinks that people in Milwaukee are dumb enough to keep flying on them.
When this happens, and it'll happen quickly, people in MKE will no longer see any reason why they should fly Midwest when there are options like Southwest, AirTran, and Delta who offer better service, fares, options, .... |

So how exactly did he put his foot in his mouth? Milwaukee sucks and most people don't go there to vacation under the gray skies and cold weather.
Bedford has acknowledged that the Midwest brand image is damaged, but in spite of that he just managed to insult the customers who were essential to 24 years of prosperity. Incredible! Bedford's predecessor mismanaged Midwest for years, and I really can't think of a single nice thing to say about him, but at least he never insulted his customers' community! |

I think this Bryan Bedford or one of his managers trying to bait someone into writing a response to shutdown this Thread. ps. I've lived in 5 metro areas... Milwaukee is just fine. |
Mod note:
I'll try to keep the thread open with a reminder of the forum rules. "Topics Not for Discussion There are currently NO forums that provide a venue for discussing politics or religion." When people start making posts with religious references, it invites a religious discussion, which is not in keeping with the rules at APC. It's a simple rule and one that has been enforced at this site in the past. Please just keep that in mind as you go forward. |
I don't live in MKE. I commuted to it for 17 years. The Cheeseheads were for the most part very nice to me. We argued football and politics and then watched our jobs get outsourced to lower cost labor willing to cut our throats. They have our jobs now. All we have left is a "Merger" committee doing their best to get us an integration. I, for one, hope I never have to return and work for the pig BB. Just my opinion. But taking away our non rev travel is low. But that's what this company is.

Still trying to get a verification on this but it looks like another violation of our contract. Not surprising. This group has ignored every aspect of our contract.

What a joke. I hope you will never have to work with BB and the RAH pilots- both would be a death sentence for somebody with your experience. This little regional on steroids is going to end badly- being a leech to a larger company is one thing, forging your own way in one of the toughest industries during one of the toughest recessions in modern time is quite a different task. Good luck to all of you MEH pilots. |
