EVERYONE should be calling and emailing their elected officials to have this ridiculous knee jerk reaction rescinded ASAP.

In reality, the enemy was stopped, the authorities in AMS (embarrassed) understand they made errors in screening, and our Government knows there are problems in Nigeria.

Solution: Punish the authorities in AMS (fines), increase negative pressure on Nigeria (Diplomatic and Military), and allow the traveling public, and more specifically, U.S. citizens, the ability to travel in freedom, so we can all get our payroll checks.

If ANY type of profiling worked 6 out of 10 times - with Reid being one of the other 4 - would you NOT be in favor of it LeftWing?
If you are looking for a 100% fool-proof answer before you implement anything - then I think you are barking up the wrong tree.

Profiling did work with Richard Reid, just not with American Airlines.

Reid tried a test run at El Al but their profiling techniques sniffed him out so quick that he had additional screening and the Isreali equivalant of an air marshal sitting next to him. He realized that he couldn't get away with his plan on El Al.

The techniques used by El Al are slightly more sophisticated than just checking names of an "ethnic" origin.

So he tried it on an American airliner and was able to get a bomb aboard the aircraft and almost ignite it.

If you're going to drink good booze and smoke the best cigars, you're just going to have to get comfortable with being a bit imperialistic.

You missed the point. Profiling simply by Arabic names is what is barking up the wrong tree.
