gas from the pipe, etc.

Question for the SWA pilots - after all the RNP training is completed this Spring, are the glass displays going to be PFD/ND like on the top of the linked photo? Or are they still going to be the traditional round gauges displayed on the glass, like on the bottom of the linked photo?

Like the top after the "turn on" date; April I think?

SWA 737 = good pay, good work rules, good labor relations and great quality of life. Who cares what I'm flying!

And I could not agree with you more regarding your quote! Working for SWA may not be what some/many/most pilots want, but I for one, can't wait to get my chance!

Thank you for the reply about my original question regarding the displays.

Man you guys get defensive. I thought we were talking about airplanes.

Pipe is a FedEx guy. Although he probably hasn't flown a 737, he likely knows what he's talking about when he talks about retrofitting old airplanes.

No, that isn't a shot at FedEx. FedEx was one of my top 2 choices when I was putting out aps. Just putting his comment in a perspective that I previously lacked. Plenty of turds being polished as they come online at FedEx.

LuvJockey is correct. I actively fly an NG. I have flown several "retrofitted" aircraft at FDX and elsewhere. Trust me when I tell you that an "MD"-10 ain't an MD-11 (and that's a 25 million dollar retrofit).

I think the NG is a little on the disappointing side. I can't imagine that a retrofitted -300 is going to be real eye-watering.

Any thoughts on what the future plans hold for SWA and aircraft types? After the 737NG?

This might be your answer ;)
