I’m seeing that position being contracted out by rented security companies. Goes to show you that TSA must be paying more then rent-a- cop wages.

Question of the day for TSA agent who would feel better about his country if he made more. What’s your price? 35k? 50k? Maybe a 100k?......Just wondering.

Are you kidding??????? A controller can be every bit as professional as an airline pilot. A senior controller definitely deserves well above 100k....even 150k. A new hire pilot at a major? Nah.

I could tell from that your post but had to zing you right back. I knew you were responding to a perceived cheap shot.

After 13 years flying for UAL, I have the maximum respect for the ORD RAPCON. Having flown numerous times at every high volume airport in the country, they are the best.

Don't ask who I think is the worst.....

Just Google TSA payscale. $153K after 13 years does not seem all that bad for someone with a GED....

I don't think the pay scales are strictly based on a yearly progression AKBeemer. It isn't like they start at Scale A and every year progress on up the ladder. I've read that the FAMs start at Scale G and can eventually max out at Scale I, then if they move into Supervisory positions can max out at Scale K. I'd be willing to bet that the actual TSA agents stacking those tubs with the GED aren't making $153k/year.

Just gotta roll with the punches and decide when to punch out.

I walked from UAL (took a vol furlough) because after 8+ yers since 911, I finally accepted it isn't going to really ever get better again. Codeshare outsourcing, and now, international joint ventures, age 65......

Where's the upside potential? I don't see it. Haven't for many years but I stuck with it too long as a matter of convenience and a bit if hope. Stopped analyzing the situation too long. Should have trusted my gut instinct back in 2002 and left then.

Maybe I'll be omnipotent in the next life...
