NWA callsign
 

Is today the last day for the Northwest callsign? If so, I'll miss hearing the ol' redtail!

I think there are a few intl flights today still using it but for the most part yesterday was the final day for the NW callsign. :(

Yesterday was the last day. A few international flights transitioned early, but all are now Delta.

Yep, we had a few that had to change callsigns over the date line, but it is all DAL on the ICAO strip now......

Gonna miss it. As a kid, every morning I would wake to the radio screaming out, " Northwest Orient..... Airlines". All good things come to an end.. Good luck to all involved....

Really? why? I guess it's a little sad, but I'm not sure it "sucks". Not hearing Clipper, or Braniff or Eastern... those voids on the airwaves "suck".

At least we won't have to hear "Northwest 123 in delta colors" anymore. I would have hated to have to say that every time on the ground.

I heard a "Comair 123 in Delta Colors", got a good laugh from that. :)

So what makes losing Clipper, Braniff or Eastern suck but not Northwest?

Would it suck if the Delta call sign was gone rather than Northwest one?
